Epson salt is a great fertilizer. This is something I learned from my grandmother years ago. There was not a commercial fertilizer as it is today. They had to use nothing or come up with something. It is great for roses, vegetables and houseplants as well. There are 2 different ways I use this on my plants. First, I use it with water in the water pitcher. I put a spoonful in the bottom of the water water. I had a little hot water because it is easier to dissolve the Epsom salt. Once dissolved, I top it off with cold water. I water my plants as usual. The second is to sprinkle a small amount around base of plant. Then just water as normal with water. I will mix in with the dirt if i am able. Here is a site that gives more information about when and how much to use.
