I Spent this past summer putting up vegetables in the freezer. It was a lot of work but I take satisfaction knowing I can go to my freezer in the winter for fresh vegetables. Since the temperature outside decided to drop I thought I would make a pot of creamer peas.
I take about 3-5 thick slices of bacon, cut up small pieces. I cook these until crispy. Drain on paper towel. In the same pan saute a small onion, cut up in small pieces. Cook these until tender. Don’t cook them all the way done. It will finish cooking with the beans. I add the bacon and onions to the pot with the beans. I add water to cover about 2 inches. Add salt to taste. Bring to boil then reduce and cook for about 1-1 1/2 hours or until tender.
